Adjoining our Coorparoo radio studios is the 4MBS Performance Studio, available for hire at very reasonable rates.

​It comfortably fits an audience of around 50-60. The studio has a Brodman grand piano, flexible lighting and an adjoining kitchenette. It’s ideal for small concerts, lectures, workshops, seminars, meetings and exhibitions. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has off street parking for up to 15 cars.

Booking Times

All bookings are on a ‘bump-in/bump-out’ basis and should fully cover all set-up time prior to an event and all post event activities like after concert supper/drinks, packing away of equipment and time for people attending the event to leave the premises. That is, the times booked should completely cover the time from initially entering the property to leaving after the event. Bookings are accepted in lots of whole hours only.

Recording Facilities

4MBS can provide staff to record your event at a cost of $85 per hour which includes time for recording equipment to be set-up, actual recording and post production work. For a one hour event, recording facilities might be needed for (say) three or more hours at $85 per hour. A single CD of the recorded event is included in the cost. Additional copies may be obtained at a cost of $10 each. It should be noted that a CD and any additional copies may not necessarily be available on the day of the event.

Additional Facilities

Should additional facilities be required (eg, storage facilities, changing/dressing areas, warm-up areas, etc), these should be very clearly identified when a booking is made to enable the calculation of any additional charges which may apply. 4MBS may not be able to provide any such additional facilities should they not be requested prior to arrival for the event.

Additional Information

INSPECTIONS – To help you plan your event or to answer any questions you may have about the 4MBS Performance Studio and its facilities, inspections may be arranged at any time during business hours subject to any activities which may be going on at the time. Call 4MBS on 3847 1717 to arrange a time.

USE OF 4MBS FACILITIES – All standard facilities mentioned above are included in the cost of hiring the 4MBS Performance Studio. Should the use of additional facilities (eg, warm-up areas, dressing/changing areas, etc) be arranged in conjunction with the booking, it should be remembered that the additional facilities will be provided in areas which are also part of an operating radio station regularly used by 4MBS staff. It is requested that the use of these areas be restricted to essential personnel only and that general audience members or other people attending the event not be given general access to these areas.

ACCESS TO THE PERFORMANCE STUDIO – The Performance Studio will be unlocked with lighting on and the air conditioning running prior to the booking time.

SETTING UP – The placing of chairs and other items in the Performance Studio is the responsibility of the hirer. Chairs will either be stacked at the rear of the Performance Studio ready for use or may already be in place from a prior booking. When organising an event time should be allowed for the setting up of chairs, etc, for your own particular requirements.

ITEMS BROUGHT IN BY HIRER – Electrical items brought into the Performance Studio by the hirer should be suitably tagged, evidence of which may be required for inspection. These and any other items introduced by the hirer remain the responsibility of the hirer at all times.

AT THE END OF THE EVENT – The Performance Studio should be left as clean as possible after use. Please do not put chairs away and do not empty rubbish bins. These matters will be attended to by 4MBS staff. Extra charges may apply if chairs are put away after use.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE – Hirers of the 4MBS Performance Studio are covered for up to $10m under the normal public liability insurance conditions.

Event Publicity

4MBS can arrange publicity for your event in any of the following ways:

  • On-air promotions as a 4MBS sponsor
  • Advertising in the monthly 4MBS Program Guide
  • Listing in both the on-air and online Music Diary

These costs are in addition to the cost of hiring the 4MBS Performance Studio. Details & quotes can be supplied on request.

4MBS Ticketing Service

The 4MBS Ticketing Service can be used to handle all bookings for your event. Features of the service include:

  • Customised tickets at no cost to the client
  • Telephone booking service open 9 to 5 seven days a week
  • Online book & pay facilities
  • Tickets mailed to purchasers as soon as possible after booking
  • Free listing of the event in the on-air and online 4MBS Music Diary
    (Classical music events only)
  • Brief on-air publicity twice every week day
  • Web page dedicated to the event​​

Making a Booking

​Bookings can be made by calling 4MBS on (07) 3847 1717 during normal business hours (9am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays).

​If the Bookings Officer is not available when you call, please leave your contact details. Your call will be returned as soon as possible. Bookings cannot be accepted by letter, fax or email and calling into the 4MBS office to make a booking is not recommended without prior arrangement with the Bookings Officer.

Cancellations

​​All bookings are of a permanent nature. Tentative or ‘pencilled in’ bookings cannot be made. Cancellations must be made with the Bookings Officer only to ensure the cancellation has been noted correctly and that you will not be billed for the booking. With all cancellations, it is expected that reasonable notice be given to free up the time booked for other potential users.
