Our Music
4MBS Classic FM broadcasts the great classical works and shorter light popular classics. We also feature fascinating interviews with musicians and other prominent people, plus just enough news and weather to keep you updated! We’re all about the music though, so ads are kept to a minimum.
Where to Listen
Tune your radio to 103.7 FM to hear us in Brisbane, South-East Queensland, and the luckier parts of northern New South Wales.
You can also listen live online from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection! We’ve received lovely letters from listeners as far away as the United States and Israel!
WHAT WAS THAT PIECE JUST PLAYED?
Want to know the name of that symphony you just heard Including who that spirited bassoon soloist was? We publish a subscriber-only monthly Program Guide featuring most listings of the names of pieces and performers.
NOT A SUBSCRIBER?
As a community broadcaster, we can only keep our three, unique radio services on the air with your support. Our affordable annual subscriptions offer a range of benefits, in addition to providing you with three radio services, airing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
Music Diary
Every day on air, our 4MBS announcers read out the Music Diary, a listing of classical music events happening in Brisbane and South East Queensland by our supporters.
OUR ANNOUNCERS
Around 55 announcers do the mighty job of pronouncing tricky composers’ surnames and expertly queuing up music to play on air without awkward silent gaps! They come from all different backgrounds, but what they have in common is a love of fine music.
If you’re a musician who’d like to have your CD played on air, visit our Performers’ Corner.
BECOME AN ANNOUNCER
About 300 volunteers perform a variety of roles to keep 4MBS on the air. One of these roles is the job of announcing, telling listeners the names of pieces played, musicians, composers, and other announcements.
To enquire about becoming an announcer, phone the station on 07 3847 1717.
