Discover how Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre shaped the development of Elizabethan Theatre, and continues to influence today’s Shakespeare productions. 4MBS Classic FM General Manager Gary Thorpe will present this informative talk.

Travel back to ancient Rome for staged scenes of Shakespeare’s classic dramas, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA and JULIUS CAESAR. Actors from the Brisbane Shakespeare Festival troupe will perform readings of the two plays with narration and music. Two-hour event with 15 minute interval.

On guard! Watch authentic Shakespearean swordplay by Prima Spada and learn about the skills and weaponry used in historical fencing.

​2.30pm JULIUS CAESAR
Directed by Beth Child
Based on true tales from the time of the Roman Empire, Shakespeare’s classic tragedy explores persuasion and politics. Bring thine own rug or chair for thy comfort.


Come early and feast on homemade savouries, cakes and drinks, provided by the Bulimba District Girl Guides. A sensational sausage sizzle will be available in the park, held by Quota Carindale to raise money for charity. Free facepainting for kids. ​
