CLASSIC CONCERTS CRUISE 2020:
NEW ZEALAND
SUN PRINCESS
9-23 NOVEMBER 2020, DEPARTING BRISBANE
FARES FROM $2910 (TWIN SHARE)
Now in its 25th year, this 14-night cruise will sail on the magnificent Sun Princess® to ports in New Zealand. In addition to all regular shipboard entertainment, guests will be treated to exclusive classical music events themed around ITALIAN MASTERS. There will also be music appreciation talks, in conversations, and music films.
OUR ITINERARY
After departing Brisbane, the cruise will visit seven attractions in New Zealand: Fiordland National Park, Dunedin (Port Chalmers), Akaroa, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga and Auckland.
Our cruise offers a range of highlights, including the scenic cruising of the majestic Fiordland National Park, the Scottish port of Dunedin with its architecturally famous railway station and Lanarch Castle with its beautiful gardens and incredible views, plus the town of Akaroa with its French history and flavour, its quaint streets and shops and magnificent harbour.
Napier is a small slice of the past, with its art-deco buildings and vintage motor vehicles. Tauranga is a delightful town well worth exploring, and for people with a fair level of fitness, the 230m Mt Maunganui is well worth the climb, affording an excellent view in every direction.
Wellington is the nation’s political capital, while Auckland is the main commercial centre. Both cities offer opportunities for exploring or shopping. There is so much to see and do in New Zealand!
OUR MUSICIANS
The music theme of the 2020 Classic Concerts Cruise is ITALIAN MASTERS. Explore the genius of Italian composers Vivaldi, Puccini, Corelli and more through sixconcerts at sea, music appreciation sessions, ‘In Conversations’ with the musicians, and music films. There is plenty to do even if you don’t go ashore in the ports we visit!
We are currently assembling an ensemble of brilliant and highly experienced musicians.
Music talks will be delivered by GARY THORPE OAM, General Manager of 4MBS Classic FM in Brisbane. Gary has a wealth of experience in the field of classical music, and will enable you to gain an insight into the wider world of classical music and composers.
