WELCOME to the 13th annual 4MBS Brisbane Shakespeare Festival!
The beloved Bard returns for three days of Shakespearean festivities in Sandgate, Roma Street Parkland Amphitheatre (the first time for the festival), and Newstead’s Gasworks Plaza. Each day will feature free, fully staged, professional outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s greatest play, his tragedy HAMLET, plus swordplay demonstrations and more family fun.
Leading up to the festival will be three free talks in Brisbane libraries called 1599 - A YEAR IN SHAKESPEARE’S LIFE. The talks, given by 4MBS General Manager Gary Thorpe, will include live music by the Sanctuary String Quartet. For the children, we have KIDS’ CLASSIC SHAKESPEARE at New Farm and Sandgate Libraries. We hope you enjoy discovering the world of the Bard with us!
